It gives me immense pleasure to know that an edited book entitled দ্বি-শতবর্ষের আলোকে ঈশ্বরচন্দ্র বিদ্যাসাগর ' (Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in the Light of Two Hundred Years) edited by four young professors of our college, namely, Dr. Tufan Roy, Dr. Goutam Datta, Sri Pratik Chakrabarty and Sri Anik Samanta, is going to be published by Iterative International Publishers (IIP). 

One of the most influential social and educational reformers of 19th century, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, was bom on September 26, 1820 in Birsingha, Midnapore district, Bengal Presidency, British India. As India grapples increasingly with changing social and educational circumstances, Vidyasagar's work in the sphere of women's emancipation, modernization  of education, and his urgent advocacy for ushering changes in religious orthodoxy finds new relevance in present times. This edited Book, দ্বি-শতবর্ষের আলোকে ঈশ্বরচন্দ্র বিদ্যাসাগর" (Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in the Light of Two Hundred Years) is focused on these areas of Vidyasagar's various facets of his life as a socio-economic, educational, religious and political reformer..
