Basic Information

Dr. Archan Mitra is an Assistant Professor at School of Media Studies (SOMS) at Presidency University, Bangalore. He has authored two book “Cases for Classroom Media and Entertainment Business” and “Multiverse and Media”. He is P.hD from Visva-Bharati Santiniketan, West Bengal in the field of “environmental informatics and communication for sustainability”. In addition to that he is a certified Science Communicator and Journalism from Indian Science Communication Society (ISCOS), certified Corporate Trainer with Amity Institute of Training and Development, Certified Social Media Network Analyst. He has a strong interest in environmental communication. He was awarded certificate of merit by PRSI, Kolkata Chapter and Medal of Honor by Journalistic Club of Kolkata. He has worked as a research assistant with the World Bank's “Environmental Capacity Building in Southeast Asia” project at IIM Kashipur. He was instrumental in launching the World Bank's Green MBA MOOC, he has also assisted in the research project on Uttarakhand disaster mitigation by ICSSR, the leading research on Uttarakhand disaster. He has worked on the recently published project by ICSSR in gender and witchcraft. He has publication in one of the topmost journal of emergency management in the world and other reputed journals and publication houses like Springer Nature. He is working on research collaboration with IIM kashipur, Alabama State University, Birmingham USA to develop a perception based global environment index. He has adopted and developed a village called ‘Noachar’ in West Bengal from a normal village to ‘eco-village’ with the concept of HECA model developed by Dr. Archan Mitra in his thesis. "
