Dr. Farheen Bano is a senior Assistant Professor at Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow since 2012. She is an architect, building performance analyst, and environmental design educator with more than 15 years of experience. She holds a Master of Architecture degree from IIT Roorkee and a PhD in environmental design from AKTU. Dr. Farheen Bano plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of architects through her exceptional teaching abilities. Her dedication to education was honored with the prestigious National Award for Teachers 2023, presented by the Honorable President of India and selected by the AICTE & Ministry of Education, Government of India. Additionally, she has been recognized with the Best Teacher Award from AKTU Lucknow, underscoring her commitment to nurturing future professionals in the field. With a strong focus on research, her interests revolve around climate-responsive architecture, sustainable design, energy-efficient buildings, energy modeling and simulation, and building economics. She also works as a building performance analyst and energy analyst, utilizing her expertise to optimize energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Her remarkable achievements include receiving the International Best Researcher in Architecture Award from the Rula Awards: Research Peace Awards and the Outstanding Teacher Award from the International Institute of Organized Research.
