Shree K.L. Chanchawat, Udaipur based Advocate and Former Assistant Commercial Taxes Officer, Government of Rajasthan has mastered the art and skill of diverse areas of indirect taxes-Sales Tax, Works Contract, Entry Tax ,Entertainment Tax, Service Tax, and GST. His books “Tax on Works Contract” and “Preliminary Knowledge on Value Added Tax” were widely acclaimed across the country. His articles have been published in national level periodicals and law journals. His articles “VAT – Some Key Aspects” & “Works Contract Transactions in VAT Regime” were published in the issues of prestigious journal ‘the Chartered Accountant’ published by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He also provided CPE background material on “Value Added Tax” to ICAI which ultimately helped the institute to bring the material out at a right point of time. On the basis of this creative contribution the ICAI brought out a publication titled “STATE- LEVEL VAT IN INDIA A STUDY” (1st Edition June 2005) He is well known figure for his knowledge on Works Contract – GST/Real Estate Transactions in the GST Regime He has been awarded many prizes, certificates and honored by number of institutions,. He has been guest faculty to many educational institutions; specially MLSU Udaipur. After his retirement as an ACTO ( in present GST Regime equivivalent to ASSISTANT COMISSIONER ,STATE TAX) , he under took multifarious activities viz teaching in LAW COLLEGE AS AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN LAW, actively participation in READING AND WRITING. He owns a very big library He has delivered talks on VAT,WORKS CONTRACT,ENTRY TAX, GST and other subjects in many seminars, conferences and symposia. His reputation as a brilliant orator has been unquestionably established. He has much expertise in English language. Presently he is legal consultant to many reputed companies.
