Dr. Thathuvaswamy, was born on 31st January, 1942, in Tiruchirapalli. He completed his schooling at St.Joseph's school, Tiruchirapalli. He went on to graduate in Medicine from the prestigious Stanley Medical College in Madras followed by his post graduation in Anaesthesiology from the Madras medical college. The author started his career in Government service and served in the same till 1985. After leaving service he established his own practice and worked as a free lancer, in the capacity of an anaesthetist in many established medical practices in and around Trichy. His experiences while in service in the Government sector and during a posting in the ICU of Gitanjali Medical Centre, a reputed multispeciality Hospital in Trichy are the springboards for the idea of this memoir.
