Dr. Archana Prabhat, Professor & Head, Department of PG Studies in Food Science & Nutrition, Alva’s College, Moodbidri. Graduated from the University of Mysore continue to pursue her doctoral studies and completed her fundamental research training. Credited with pioneering the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition programmes at Mangalore University. Has more than two decades of expertise in teaching and project Supervision. Served as Chairperson/ Member of the Board of Studies and Examination at Mangalore University, Autonomous and deemed institutions. Presented more than 35 papers at conferences conducted at the national and international levels, and two of the papers recognised as the best papers. Published 28 papers in reputable journals. Mentored post graduate students for their project work. Additionally, a key contributor to the creation of the curricula for all courses in the Food and Nutrition programmes at independent institutions and Mangalore University. Convener of various workshops and Regional/ National seminars, International Conference, National webinar/ conference organized by the departments. Regional Secretary of IAPEN India- Mangaluru chapter. Columnist for Karnataka Jain Pathrike. Recipient of:
*Best Women Faculty Award (from Nature Science Foundation, Coimbatore)- 2019.
*National Award  from IAPEN India for Excellence in Nutrition Research-2021
