Dr. M P Murugesan, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Food Technology at Excel Engineering College (Autonomous), Tamil Nadu, India. I possess 14 years of teaching experience and extensive research experience across various fields. I completed my Bachelor's degree in B. Tech (Chemical Engineering) at Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, followed by a Master's degree in M. Tech (Chemical Engineering) at Kongu Engineering College, Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with a thesis titled "Novel Treatment Techniques for E-waste" under the Faculty of Technology at Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Additionally, I serve as a supervisor in the Faculty of Technology at Anna University. My research over the past 14 years has predominantly focused on Solid Waste Management, particularly in E-waste management, wastewater treatments, and extraction of medicine from plants. I have published 23 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals indexed in SCI (Science Citation Index), WoS, Scopus, AU Appendix I & II, among others, and authored 2 book chapters published by IntechOpen Limited, London, UK. I have been honored with the International Best Researcher Award in the category of "Solid Waste Management in Chemical Engineering" at ISSN (IIRA-22) on 04.06.2022, as well as the Best Researcher Appreciation Award from Excel Engineering College. Additionally, I have received research funds from TNSCST and the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). I serve as a reviewer for the International Journal of Photo-energy, International Journal of Cleaner Production, and Journal of Sustainable Chemical Engineering. Furthermore, I have actively participated in and presented papers and seminars at various conferences, workshops, skill development programs, and faculty development programs (FDP), and have served as a resource person for technical training for industrial employees. Currently, I have been honored with a Research Publications Award at Excel Engineering College. I am also a member of professional society organizations such as ISTE, IIE, IIChE, and IIC. Presently, my research focuses on waste-to-wealth initiatives for zero percent waste discharge, bioenergy production, and the production of natural food products based on millets.
