Being an M. Phil. Degree holder from Andhra University, Waltair and Ph.D from Gauhati University, Dr. Girish Baruah is an erudite scholar of philosophy. He has published more than ninety books. They include original writing, translation and edition. He is a recipient of Asom Sahitya Sabha Award, Philosopher Bhabananda Dutta Award etc. His short life sketch has been published in Philosopher's Index, USA, Who's Who of Indian Writers published by Sahitya Acadey, Who's Who of Teachers and Scholars of Philosophy of India published by Indian Council of Philosophical Research, etc. He is the recipient of literary pension offered by the Government of Assam.
