Basic Information
Dr. Nithyanandam is an Educationist and a Researcher. He has more than 16 years of Automobile industry experience in USA and close to 10 years of Academic experience in India. He has completed three Master's degrees in the USA and a PhD in the field of Industry 4.0 from Anna University, India. Ganesh received Indian Achievers Award 2020 for the Education Excellence during October 2020.
Some of his achievements are:
- Ganesh had taught more than 60 courses (2135 UG students and 340 PG students) between 2010 and 2018. In this, overall failure rate for UG and PG courses are 2.02% and 0.5% respectively.
- He received the “Train-the-Trainer” certificate from Cambridge University (UK) for demonstrating some of the techniques he used in his classrooms.
- Ganesh is the Program Coordinator for PSG College of Technology and he has coordinated more than 100 teaching-learning improvement programs since its inception (2015).
- He received a “Master Trainer” certificate for 3-credit hour interdisciplinary introductory course on “Foundation Skills in Integrated Product Development” in association with Anna University, Chennai during December 2015 to boost Engineering placement in Tamil Nadu. He has trained this course to engineering faculty at three colleges in Tamil Nadu.
- He is certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. He has trained more than 500 students in Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification workshops.
- He has organized student's Educational Tours/ Industrial visits to the United States of America (USA) during Summer 2013, 2017 and 2019.
- Recently, he completed INDO-UK Industry-Academia collaboration project sponsored by Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) in association with Newcastle University (UK) and PSG Industrial Institute. With partnering institutions, they have recommended 13 courses to be a part of their Industry 4.0 curriculum.
- He has created the state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 laboratory at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, PSG College of Technology.
- He has created a Test bed demonstrator in his lab and implemented Operational Digital Twin for pump assembly.
- He completed DRDO-ARDB project in the field of Cyber-Physical System as Principal Investigator. The project outcomes were exuberant with three patents (US Utility patent Number 9971343 B2 dated May 15, 2018, Indian Utility patent Number 334766 dated 16/03/2020 and Indian Design patent Number 315866 dated March 18, 2019) awarded in his name.
- He worked as Project Manager of Manufacturing Parts Tracking System (MPTS) at Chrysler (USA) and he was involved in launching human-less state-of-the-art Phoenix engine plants.
- He received an "Excellent" employee award from his department during the April 2008.
- He received a "Bravo" certificate from SHAP plant manager for zero machine break down when the plant started first-time after new facility layout change.
- He architected web-enabled QMS using LiveWire (server-side JavaScript) and Sybase, 3rd Intranet web application at Chrysler, which was launched during late 1996.
- Ganesh received 1-Gold award, 3-Silver awards, and 13-Bronze awards for innovative ideas suggested to improve the efficiency of PPVC plant operations.
- Proposed and developed new features of TimeWizard 2.0 software for MTS Private Ltd (Maryland, USA). As appreciation, the author name is listed in the TimeWizard 2.0 Manuals and User Guides - Acknowledgement section.
