Basic Information

Wangdi Gyalpo Bhutia was born in the enchanting hills of Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. He pursued his early education at the Central School for Tibetans Darjeeling. Later on, he pursued English Literature at the Government College Darjeeling. Maybe, just because of the marvel of nature that his eyes perceived in Darjeeling, particularly on the mall road that came small whispering of the on his way to school, listening to the sweet chirping of the birds, cold winds, and the intensity of the fog that encircled the area most of the time, transformed once a naughty and shabby child into a poet and a writer. He is the co-author of the First English Poetry Book entitled "Bards' Sketches" launched on top of the world, Mt. Everest on May 15, 2006. Author of a poetry collection entitled, "Voices from Emotion", 2021. He was honoured as Author of the Month (September) 2005, by the Association of Young Journalists and Writers: New York USA. He was nominated as a Poet of the year' for the year 2005 by the International Library of Poets Society Washington D.C. and his literary works in the form of poetry, short-stories, plays, and chapters from his upcoming novel are published in different poetry portals and literary websites around the globe. He is the Winner of level 4, "BE A STAR'- English Poetry Competition organised by the Motivational Strips, 2023.
