Dr. C.R Harilakshmeendra Kumar  Born in 1971 to Dr. Nellimmoodu H.C.Kumar, an indegenous Ayurvedic practitioner; and Omana C. Kumar, Agricultural Field Officer (Retd) at Pallickathodu in Kottayam District. He got his first Ph. D. in Nature Cure and Yoga in 2005 and second Ph. D. in his studies on Buddha and Gandhi in 2008 from Mahatma Gandhi University, Master of Arts in Gandhian Studies and Peace Science From M.G.University in 1994 and M.Sc Yoga & Naturopathy from Tamil Nadu sports University in May 2017 , He is a professional Naturopath and Yoga practitioner with 15 years of experience. Currently Dr. Harilakshmeendra Kumar is working as the Assistant Professor of School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies. He is also rendering his service as the Honorary Director of Centre for Yoga and Naturopathy, Mahatma Gandhi University. 

During the ten years of professional career, Dr. Harilakshmeendra Kumar actively involved in many of the academic and co curricular activities. He was the script writer of ‘Suvarnaneelam’ a documentary which won international selection for  Dada Sahib Phalke film festival, Kolkata international short film festival, South Asian short film fest ival. Besides, he was the author of Kreeda Yoga and Koumara Yoga – Text books on Yoga and Naturopathy, published by Mahatma Gandhi University in 2020, The Philosophy of Buddha and Bapuji Living in the Hearts of the People, published by Neo Institute of Rural Management and Infrastructure Development in 2009. 

Dr. Harilakshmeendra Kumar was the Director – SGTDS – M.G University from July 2017 to May 2018. In addition to that, he has served as the Programme Officer, National Service Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi University Campus Unit for 5 consecutive years from 2010. He was honoured by IPCAI National award in 2017, GICSNA National award in 2016. His 11 papers published in various national and International Journals. Many invited lectures are also in his credit including the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2017. He could also render his service as the Senate member of Mahatma Gandhi University from 2010 to 2015, Board of Studies member of SGTDS, M.G University and Center for Gandhian Studies, Calicut University and Life member of the All India Nature Federation, New Delhi. He is one of the resource experts of Gandhigram Rural University, Kerala Public Service Commission and was the IQAC Member of Mahatma Gandhi University from 2014 to 2018.
