Dr. Usha Devi C is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Food Nutrition and Research Centre, Smt. VHD Central Institute of Home Science Bangalore; she has 28 years of Teaching Experience and 20 years of Research Experience in the field of Food and Nutrition. She is guided 10 Ph.D students. She is published more than 30 research papers in the reputed peer reviewed journals and she presented 15 papers in the national and international conferences and also she published 3 books titled "Minor millets and Diabetes mellitus in English and Kannada, Renal Disease and Nutrition during Adolescence". She is BoS Chairperson for Food Science and Nutrition in Bangalore Central University for UG/PG/Ph.D Programs. She is completed UGC sponsored minor project titled "IEC Approach for better living of adolescent girls living in Slums-2006-2008" and major project titled "Influence of Minor Millet and Education Intervention on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus-2011-2014". She is life member for many professional bodies like Life Member of International science Congress Association, Life member of Home Science Association of India, Life member of Nutrition Society of India and Life member of Indian Dietetic Association, He has received Young Researchers Award- 2021 from Institute of scholars and also recognised as a reviewer form the Journal of Institute of scholars. She has delivered lecture in various conferences and workshop as a resource person. She has organized many national and state level workshops and she is the chairperson in the national conferences on "Understanding Diet and Insulin" on 28-Feb 2012 Organized by Panacea Health Education in collaboration with Smt. VHD Central Institute of Home Science, Sheshadri Road, Bangalore.
