P.K. Misra was a National Fellow of Indian Council Social Science Research. He served the Anthropological Survey of India for about twenty-five years. He was Visiting Professor at various Universities in India and abroad.He retired as Professor of Anthropology from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. His latest book is Tribal Heritage: An overlooked Chapter of Indian History. Presently he is President of Anthropological Association.
