Dr. Rakshith Hegde is a Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics & Oral Implantology at AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Nitte Deemed To Be University. Mangaluru, Karnataka, India, He is the course coordinator of modular courses in basic and advanced oral implantology courses at the department. He is a Fellow at the International Team for Implantology.  He was one of the first to get a Diploma in Weld-one Concept. He has published over 50 articles in National and International Journals. Dr.Hegde has conducted several lectures on national and international podiums. He has also designed an instrument that can be used for indirect sinus lift and seating of Conometric crowns. His clinical interests and researches are focused primarily on immediate loading and graft less Sinus Augmentation.
