Dr. Sutanu Lal Bondya son of Rabindra Lal Bondya was born in Bhutia, a small village of Baharagora Block of East Singhbhum, Jharkhand. He did his Post Graduation from University Department of Botany, Ranchi University, Ranchi in the year 2001. He completed his Ph.D. degree from University Department of Botany, Ranchi University, Ranchi in 2004 under the able supervision of Prof. H. P. Sharma as a Project fellow on the Major Research Project sponsored by UGC, New Delhi. Immediately after that he joined Botanical Survey of India, Allahabad as Research Associate in the year 2004, then he served NBPGR (ICAR), Palandu, Ranchi as Research Associate in the year 2006. After that he joined Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka as Assistant Professor in the Year 2008. Presently Dr. Bondya is working as Head of the Department at University Department of Botany, Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka. He has produced two Ph.D. students and published more than 49 research articles in reputed National and International Journal. He has participated and presented papers in more than 50 National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops across the country. Dr. Bondya has received several awards of National and International repute. He is serving SKM University, Dumka as a member of the Senate. He also served SKM University, Dumka as Officer-in-charge Research Section, and member of Research, Collaboration and Incubation Cell. Dr. Bondya has done extensive work on Ethnobotany of various regions of Jharkhand, Amarkantak (M.P. & Chhattisgarh), Sacred groves, Floristic, Taxonomy etc.
