Basic Information

Dr. Cosmas Boniface Mnyanyi is an educationist specializing in mathematics education, chemistry education, special and inclusive education, assistive technology research and services, and career guidance and counselling. He has taught inclusive education courses, chemistry, mathematics, and guidance and counselling. Mnyanyi has been involved in facilitfacilitator, curriculum developer, and ICT teacher educator, and is currently a Senior Lecturer, educational researcher, and consultant inating job skills training for youth with disabilities; education-related consultancies; and evaluation studies on the promotion of education as one of the basic rights for all. Dr. Mnyanyi has an extensive background in the education sector in Tanzania. He has worked as a teacher educator, secondary school teacher, school inspector, ICT technician, ICT facilitator, curriculum developer, and ICT teacher educator, and is currently a Senior Lecturer, educational researcher, and consultant in the fields of special needs and inclusive education, career guidance and counselling, and open and distance learning. He has also been extensively working as a facilitator in capacity building for in-service teachers' continuous professional development (TCPD) and integrating ICT into teaching and learning. As a school inspector, Dr. Mnyanyi is used to evaluating school learning environments, figuring out what gets in the way of learning, providing educational psychotherapy, figuring out what factors affect academic performance, figuring out how well schools are following the government's changing rules, figuring out how well teachers and students are doing, and coming up with ways to measure performance. Dr. Mnyanyi has written a lot about action research, assistive technology, inclusive education, counselling and guidance, information and communication technology (ICT) for people with disabilities, and general pedagogy.
