Showkat Maqbool did his M.Sc. and Ph.D. Statistics from the Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in the year 2003 and joined the Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir in the year 2007 and presently working as Associate Professor of Statistics in the Division of Agri-Statistics, Faculty of Horticulture, Shalimar, Srinagar. His field of specialization is Sampling Techniques, Mathematical Programming and Data Science and to date has co-supervised 08 Ph.D. and 02 M.Phil. Statistics students. The author published more than 180 research papers in various international and national journals of repute and has attended 50 national and international conferences and served as chairman in various technical sessions during the last 10 years. Presently having 10 research projects and was involved in 01 NATP research project from IASRI- ICAR New Delhi. Delivered 30 invited lectures at various conferences.
