Dr. Ramachandra Naik, Presently working as Dean Student Welfare in University of Horticultural Sciences- Bagalkot, is a renowned scientist in the field of Postharvest Technology of Horticultural Products and has completed 29 years of service in various cadres such as extension guide, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, and Head of the Department, University Head for the Department of Postharvest Technology. Ilas served as Principle Scientist in various All India coordinated research projects and Co-PI in Department of Science and Technology Project. In over a period of 27 years, he has more than 75 research papers in his credit of national and international recognition and written & Published 5 ISBN numbered Scientific Books, more than 100 popular articles in Kannada. He has had wide international exposures as visiting scientist to the many countries. He acted as Chairman, Co-Chairman and member of PG advisory committee for 45 MSc students and 11 PhD students in UAS, Dharwad as well as UHS Bagalkot. He is a recipient of Dr. Abdul Kalam National award, Dr. Radhakrishnan National award, The Best Dean Award, Adarsh Vidya Saraswasti Rashtriya Purskara and Sadhaka Kannadiga State award.
