Dr. Md. A. Sattar Shah, Born on 1.1.1963 and is serving as a Professor in the Zoology   Department of Y. K. College, Wangjing, Manipur. He graduated with Honours in Zoology from D. M. College of Science, Imphal under Manipur University. He passed Post Graduate Diploma in Sericulture in 1987 from Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Berhampore, West Bengal. He passed M. Sc. Zoology in 1991 from Manipur University with Entomology as special. Started his career on the faculty of Zoology, Lilong Haoreibi College, Lilong, Manipur in the year of passing Master Degree and shifted in 2011 to Y. K. College and taught Entomology and Zoology at graduate level. He secured  Ph. D. in 2009 under the able guidance of Prof. G. K. N. Chhetry and (Late) Prof.  T. Kameshwar Singh of Life Sciences Department, Manipur University. He worked as Convener of Research Committee and Nodal Officers of Bachelor of Vocational Courses and RUSA of Y. K. College. He completed one minor and one major research  projects funded by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi and Department  of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi, Government of India respectively.  One major research project funded by DBT is undergoing under his supervision as Principal Investigator. He has published 25 research papers in journals of national and international repute and attended several national and international conferences, workshops and seminars
