Lalitha Raja. R. Assistant Professor, CAS in Linguistics, Annamalai University, has completed her B.Sc., Mathematics, B.Ed. B.Ed. in Special Education M.A. Linguistics M.A. Psychology Ph.D. in Linguistics, P.G. Diploma in Guidance and Counseling, and P.G. Diploma in Computational Linguistics. She is a Registered Rehabilitation Professional-Special Educator (Mental Retardation). She has more than 15 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor and In-charge of Centre for Speech and Language Disorder Studies, CAS in Linguistics, Annamalai University. Her area of research is Psycholinguistics, Cognitive Linguistics and Clinical Linguistics.
She was the Fellow at Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla from 2016 to July 2018 for her outstanding research "Significance of Optimality Theory in Phonological Acquisition and Assessment and Intervention of Phonological Disorders". She has received grants for 9 research projects in the field of clinical and Psycholinguistics from UGC, ICSSR, AYJNIHH, IIAS, NCERT and TANSCHE and 2 non funded UGC-SAP projects.
She has authored 2 books and functioned as coeditor for a book and contributed 2 chapters in a book. She has published 52 research articles, that is, 13 in National Journals, 18 in International Journals, 20 in Proceedings, and 1 in a Magazine. She has attended 58 National and International Seminars and Conferences. She has delivered 25 Special Lectures (Invited lectures and Endowment Lectures). As an Adjunct Faculty she has delivered more than 40 lectures. She has received 6 awards and 2 fellowships for her research and service. She has guided 9 PG Scholars, 7 Doctoral Scholars and guiding 3 Doctoral Scholars at present.
