Dr. Mohd Rashid is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Rajpati Mata Prasad Shikshan Prashikshan Girls Post Graduate College, Kalwari Basti Uttar Pradesh and a prominent member of the advisory committee of Cosmopolitan School, Tanda, Ambedkar Nagar. He has been in the line of teaching for 11 long years at various levels. He secured his B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Chemistry and an M.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He received a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He has published 12 research papers in the area of hybrid organic - inorganic nanocomposite materials, adsorption, polymer and potentiometric sensors in refereed international journals. He also published 3 book chapters, books on Polymer Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry. He has presented several research papers at various national and international conferences. His areas of research include preparation, characterization and application of hybrid organic - inorganic nanocomposite materials, thermodynamic and kinetics study of composite material, synthesis of potentiometric sensors for determination of toxic metals from water and their removal and purification of water using synthesized nanocomposite.
