Dr. Nitan Sharma is an alumnus of the Department of Law and The Law School, University of Jammu. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, Noida. He is associated with many human rights and other non-government organizations, where he has contributed to the best of his ability. He has authored and edited books on contemporary issues of socio-legal relevance, viz., Environmental Issues, Rights of Transgender Persons, Women and Law, and Human Rights in a globalized world. He is also an editorial board member for various national and international journals. He has participated in and presented various research papers in conferences and seminars and has been awarded the ‘Best Presentation Award’ on two occasions. His curiosity to understand the practical dimensions of law has also motivated him to organize legal aid camps, seminars, webinars, student visits to prestigious national commissions for vulnerable categories, and participation in many TV programs, especially Sansad TV and DD Urdu. His main areas of interest are International Human Rights Law, Environmental Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property Rights.
