Dr. Sanjay S. Mahar is Assistant Professor and Head of Department of Department of Tourism Studies, Dharmanand Uniyal Government Degree College, Narendra Nagar (Tehri Garhwal), Uttarakhand. Before Joining present college, he was associated with Centre for Mountain Tourism and Hospitality Studies (CMTHS), HNB Garhwal University (a Central University), Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand for 10 years to teach tourism and hotel management subject. He qualified University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) exam twice and availed Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF). He holds Ph. D Degree in Tourism Management and is actively engaged in teaching and research work. After completing his MBA (Tourism) degree from HNB Garhwal University (A Central University), he worked as a travel executive in a travel agency in New Delhi for 01 year. Being an ardent traveler, his area of interest are community-based tourism and sustainable tourism development. He has published 01 book and more than 30 research papers and articles in international and national journals. Dr. Mahar has organized a number of training programmes, conferences and workshops. He is associated with various Universities, Instituions and other associations and contributes to their academia and research work. Apart from academic and research work, He also served as a Nodal Officer of RUSA at Govt. Degree College, Narendra Nagar and also worked in various committees for the holistic growth and development of higher education.
