Dr. Syamaprasad Datta'M. A, Ph.D. in History is a well-known teacher in Modern History. A good administrator as a Principal & Secretary, he is famous for executing challenging tasks to take forward steps out of nothing within no time and well-loved by people of all sections. He loves to study on different types of themes, which seem unassuming to other scholars. After his retirement, he has been successful in researching a new angle of urban study and thus highlighting the role of Calcutta Traffic Police in making a modern Calcutta in the colonial years. It is his mission to circulate this role of the CALCUTTA Traffic Police among people and future researchers. As President of KAIKHALI JIBANDISHA, a well-known organisation consisting of his students for spreading awareness on traffic, pollution and health issues, he has encouraged young and old to strive for making a stress-free society. At present, he is Professor of History, Seacom skills University, at Bolpur, West Bengal, supervising Ph.D. scholars. His ongoing research project also deals with Traffic Officers of Kolkata Police in recent years, a theme of Oral History.
