Ms. Pratyashi Saikia Tandon currently holds the position of Assistant Professor (Grade II) & HOD, at the Department of Sociology, Kamla Arya Kanya Post Graduate College, Mirzapur (affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi). Her qualifications includes B.A. (English) Honours, PGDTTM(Tourism Management), M. A. (Sociology), MPhil (Sociology), & NET (Sociology). She is currently pursuing her PHD on the topic “Trafficking in Women and Girls in North-East India.” With a teaching career spanning 7 years at both UG and P. G. level, she has imparted students her knowledge, experience, skills and helped them establish their career path. She has nearly 15 research papers / articles in various national and international journals to her credit and has also contributed book chapters in edited books. She has actively participated and presented papers in more than 35 national and international seminars / conferences / workshops /webinars and undergone FDP's / Capacity Building & Teacher Training Programmes. She has been conferred 'Shakti Yodha Award', Govt. of UP for contribution in the field of education; 'Mission Shakti Award' for active involvement in the Mission Shakti Program of UP Govt and Teacher Award by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi for being instrumental in the implementation of NEP 2020. She is also a member of Board of Members, 'CM Abhudaya Yojna', Uttar Pradesh and a Life member of ISS.
