Dr. T. S. Sukanya, Professor of Agronomy at UAS, Bangalore started her career in KVK from Scientist to Senior Scientist and Head and served inthree districts i.e., Haveri, Chikmagalur and Tumkur in Karnataka. Presently, she is working as Principal Scientist (Agronomy) and Principal Investigator at Project Coordinating Unit, ICAR-AICRP on Small Millets, Bangalore. She has vast experience in extension, seed production, effective demonstrations, capacity building programmes and distance education in agriculture. She was instrumental in establishing infrastructures through financial aids from Govt. of Karnataka and Universityand has handled projects in extension and research. From 2018, she is working at PC Unit, ICAR-AICRP on Small Millets, UAS Bangalore as Principal Scientist and Principal Investigator (Agronomy) and involved in formulation of agronomy experiments, monitoring and execution and also looking after frontline demonstrations in Nutricereals across states. She has developed 9 technologies in agronomy at national and state level and also involved in development of nutricereals varieties and conducting intensive extension strategies for nutricereals promotion. She is actively engaged in teaching activities and has guided post graduate students of Agronomy at UAS Bangalore and has published 6 books, good number of book chapters and research articles in reputed journals and scientific bulletins. For the contribution of her service, she washonored with Zuari Best Extension worker award during 2016-17 from UAS Bangalore and several other recognitions from various prestigious societies in recognition of her work.
