B.V. Raviprasad is currently a Senior Fellow of Indian Council of Social Science Research with affiliation to the the Department of Studies In Anthropology, University of Mysore. He has worked as aResearcherin the Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Government of India for 29 years including 10 years in Andaman and Nicobar Regional Center at Port Blair.He has published 60 research papers in national and international journals out of 20 research papers are exclusively on Indigenous communities of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He was one of the Editor of books 'Anthropology Of Traditional Indian Food (2017) and The Particularly Vulnerable Tribes In India (2016) published by the Anthropological Association and the Anthropological Survey of India. Kolkata respectively. Besides, the Anthropological Survey of India published his research project in Visakhapatnam slums as book 'Urban Poor of Visakhapatnam city (2012). He was Secretary of Anthropological Association from 2011 to 2019 and during this period, he organized and actively participated in several national seminars that were organized by the Anthropological Association.
