‘Sangeetacharya’ Dr. Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam, working as Assistant Professor (Indian Music-Vocal) at National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, is armed with two Doctoral Degrees in Music. He is highly acclaimed, nationally and internationally as an eminent Musician, Musicologist, Composer and Guru, who has been making commendable contribution to various facets of music. He is a graded Artiste and Composer of AIR and Doordarshan and is the recipient of Senior Research Fellowship, Junior Research Fellowship and also the Young Talent Merit Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Apart from several music eminence awards, he has been awarded titles like ‘Sangeeta Lakshya Lakshana Martanda’, ‘SwaraPani’, ‘Sangeeta Seva Nirata’, ‘Sangeeta Vidya Danakarna’, ‘Vaggeya Vara Prasadi’ etc., and honoured as ‘Asthana Vidwan’ of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. He gives concerts widely across the globe and is well acclaimed for his soulful voice, lucid diction and aesthetic rendition. He has authored several books on Carnatic Music and regularly writes Articles for Music Magazines, gives Lec-Dems, presents Papers in National and International Seminars/Conferences, conducts Workshops and Symposiums, acts as an Adjudicator for music competitions and Advisor for Research Scholars in Music. He hadbeen the Chief Editor of ‘PRANAVAM’ a bi-lingual quarterly Music Magazine.
