Domestic violence is abuse that happens in a personal relationship. It can happen between past or current partners, spouses, or boyfriends and girlfriends. Domestic violence can take many forms, including physical, mental, emotional, financial, religious, and sexual abuse. It can vary from subtle, coercive forms to marital rape and violent physical abuse including female genital mutilation and acid throwing, which can result in deformity or death. Stoning, bride burning, honor killings, and dowry deaths are examples of domestic homicides.

Since the 1970s, society has begun to see violence against women as a unique phenomenon rather than a way of categorizing crimes based on victim characteristics. The main reason for domestic violence persisting in India is Male dominated society, Lack of awareness of Laws, Laxity in implementation of the existing Acts, Bureaucracy & Fear.

The growth of studies on the causes and forms of violence against women has accompanied this reframing. the impacts of female victimization on victims; and the roles of criminal justice, social service, and public health practitioners in preventing, intervening in, and ameliorating the effects of female victimization.

The state of United Andhra Pradesh made headlines in 2013 for having the highest number of crimes against women. According to the latest data issued by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the undivided state was second only to Maharashtra in cybercrime, with women making up the majority of the victims.

This initiative aims to disseminate key findings from scientific research on violence against women to practitioners, increase practitioners' awareness of, access to and capacity to use information across professional disciplines, and identify knowledge gaps that may be filled by unsupported assumptions or opinions. Communicating research findings to practitioners is problematic on numerous levels.

My research is doctrinal and focuses on domestic violence in women. I chose this topic for research because we were concerned about women's suffering.

This report examines research issues and questions that are common to all onlookers involved in this study. The first section reviews definitions of different forms of violence against women and summarizes what researchers know about their incidence and prevalence. The second section provides the conceptual framework for protection of women against domestic violence. The third section briefly documents the implementation of the domestic violence act for women in India. The fourth section summarises the domestic violence act's implementation for women in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The perceptions of respondents are presented in the next session. The last session examines the study's principal findings and conclusions.

The interpretations of findings in the full report do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the individual research teams.
