A word to the person who is using this book to guide a child to read. This book has been compiled in such a way to enable the child to read through simple phonics. English is a language in which the sound of letters will depend on the position they are placed in a word. I have given the general and easy way to read a word. There are many exceptions in the English language while reading a word.

The general technique given in this book may not be applicable for some words. I haven’t gone into the exceptions, for it may confuse the child who is beginning to read. Let us first bring the child into the world of words, then they themselves will learn to understand the exceptions better. Reading should not be presented to a child as a duty. It should be offered as a gift. A gift which they will cherish all their life.
