Necessity of adding new chapters to Advanced Studies in English Grammar was felt just after the publication of the first edition, and that is what has led us to revise the book and update it. New chapters added to the book are Narration, Analysis, Comprehension and Precis. The materials have been updated, wherever called for. We have also tried to rectify the typing errors that might have inadvertently crept in the first edition. Keeping in view the instructions of some eminent scholars, such as Dr. Ripsudan Srivastava, former VC, BN Mandal University, Madhepura, Dr. Deobrat Prasad Akela, HoD, B.A. University, Department of English, Muzaffarpur, Dr. M. Yadav, IPS, IG, Bihar, Dr. P.N. Jha, former DSW, LNMU, Darbhanga, and the desires of our beloved readers, we have also added practice exercises on Transformation, Time and Tense, Comprehension, Precis to facilitate students to develop command over English Language and come out successful at all competitive examinations. Our endeavour to revise the book could not have been successful without the cooperation of my sons-in-law Dr. Subhash Yadav and Dr. Santosh Yadav, my beloved daughters Dr. Sangita Kumari and Dr. Geetanjali and Nishshesh (C.A), who took lots of pains during the revision of the book. The book is primarily intended for use in Indian Subcontinent, but it shall be a matter of great joy to us, the writers, and of greater help to students in more other countries, where English is used as second and foreign language.
