Learning of clinical science for dental students requires practice, integration, and application of knowledge, skill, and attitude to learning in dental school and hospital.
The difficulty of imparting a great quantity of information in a short period of time, in a way that is retained, recalled, and properly comprehended by a learner, should be taken into account. This has resulted in significant changes in health sciences education, with a trend away from didactic, subject-based teaching and more towards interactive, outcome-based, student-centric learning.
This book emphasizes that teaching should involve multiple sensory modalities so that all types of students can actively participate in the learning process. It emphasizes how important it is for teachers to be aware of learning styles, approaches and strategies, in order to improvise the teaching-learning process, as educators.
The research work in this book demonstrates that, the creation of a learning environment requires thoughtful planning at the module level.
It also gives insights for development of a Technology-based learning module with focus on developing coherence in the curriculum via learning objectives, teaching methods, materials and activities, and finally the achievement of learning outcomes.
