It is our great pleasure and privilege to bring out the proceedings of the National Photonics Symposium 2020 (NPS 2020). NPS aim at enlightening the students and researchers to find new directions of research and also to gain first-hand information about the current trends in the field of photonics through active discussions with eminent scientists from different parts of the country. The NPS-2020 focused on broad areas of Photonics.

By conducting NPS, we provided a platform for all the participants to exchange the latest and advanced research with their peers in the field by bringing in scientists within India to deliver invited lectures and contributed talks. We also provided a great opportunity for the scientists/students to exhibit their work in the form of posters and ignite scientific discussions over them. The topics discussed in the symposium include Nanophotonics, Plasmonics, Biophotonics, Metamaterials, Nonlinear optics, Laser technology, Quantum optics, Quantum computing, Optical Fiber based devices, Optoelectronic devices, Photonic/Optoelectronic Materials, Laser induced plasma, Ultrafast laser-matter interactions, Laser assisted fabrication techniques and computational modelling of materials.
