Today every individual is exposed to media in some way or the other through its various modes and channels. We can say that media has turned into rivulets entering into everyone's life spectrum in some way or the other. Media is having an intense impact on the life of every today's man, especially the television. It has emerged to be one of the most powerful communication technologies with tremendous power to attract and influence the people. Therefore, it is very important to consider media exposure with special emphasis on television.
The purpose of the study is located in the Nizamabad City of Telangana State. Nizamabad is the headquarters of the district. Nizamabad city is one of the developed cities of Telangana state and the third-largest city in Telangana. The city is well urbanized in terms of basic facilities such as banks, educational institutions, major health care, and hospitals, strong socio-political institutions, radio and television stations, means of communication, and transportation.
The social background of the women respondents was considered in terms of their age groups, religion, caste, mother tongue, languages known, marital status, educational qualification of the respondents, father's and mother's education, occupation of the respondents, father's and mother's livelihood and monthly income.
The media exposure was considered in terms of exposure to the television, access to television channels (ownership, kind of media they are being exposed to, time spent on watching T.V., place of watching, language preferences, mode of watching, choice of programs they care). Therefore, the study reveals that there are fewer and high degrees of impact of serials on social attitudes of women regarding different situations.
