A woman plays multiple roles in her life - as a mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother-in-law, a friend, a colleague, etc.  In each of her roles, being patient and polite, she tries her best to shower love and care among the people around her.  Many a times, she ignores her own dreams, wishes, desires at the time of fulfilling her responsibilities. The situation becomes critical and painful when someone raises questions on the dignity and the respect of a woman.  To put light on this issue, the Department of Research in association with Internal Complaints Committee, ARKA JAIN University organised an article writing competition ‘AALEKH’ in the month of February, 2023 on a theme ‘Contemporary Issues on Women Safety and Security’.  Several faculty members, research scholars and students from the university contributed their articles out of which the selected articles are presented in this book.  Precisely, the deliberations in these papers contribute few solutions to the issue that could be helpful for the society as a whole in protecting the women and their rights.The present volume of ‘AALEKH’ is the first step towards presenting a collaborative research work in the form of a book.  This is just a beginning…!
