I have carefully gone through Dr. Ankush Shinde  and Dr. Arjun Wagh’s  co-author book  on   ‘An Introduction to Geomorphology’and have been impressed by the wide canvas covered by them. These scholars have attempted to build up the story of geomorphological ideas, concepts and distinctive type of all types of landforms with its evolution to deformation. 

This book has five chapters in which each chapter comprising of two to fourth sub topics. The first chapters are devoted to the development of geomorphic ideas and concepts with its nature, scope, importance and branches. The geomorphic landforms and environment relation affects on all type of human activities.  Chapter second is devoted to earth itself i.e. origin of earth, interior earth, different concepts of origin of oceans and continents on the earth surface like tetrahedral theory, Wegener’s theory, Plate tectonic theory, Isostasy theory etc. The third chapter is focused on earth movement like slow and fast earth movement, earthquakes, volcano activity. The fourth chapter comprises of Geomaterials and geomorphic processes like rocks, weathering, mass wasting and cycle of erosion processes. The fifth chapters includes the work of change of agents like fluvial topography, Karst topography, Aeolian topography, Glacial topography and Coastal topography with two dimensional figure and world’s famous examples. 
    
They cover the entire syllabus of UGC level B.A. /B.Sc. Programme syllabus of Geomorphology paper in geography with easily understanding languages. This book is useful for M.A. /M.Sc. degree in geography. This may also be useful for the students who offer Geography as a subject in the competitive examination, colleagues and researchers. 

The greatest merit of this book is that it brings together in one volume the entire geomorphology knowledge, concepts and landforms evolution. Authors keenly provided attention towards the subject in simple and understanding form with neat diagrams and figures.  These books certainly help to teacher in teaching and understanding to students.
