Although the technique of Vāta-Sāra is mentioned in Gheraṇḍa Saṁhitā, and that of Plāvinī in Haṭhapradīpikā; there is a very short description of both. No one can learn these techniques by just reading the texts. There are practically no teachers available on these two topics. Some even think that the knowledge of these processes has become extinct and that it existed only in ancient times. A need was, therefore, felt to bring about a book on these. The present work is an attempt to fulfil this gap. Some day in the year 2007 I was enlightened during one of my deep meditation sessions, when pondering on the topic of Vāta-Sāra I suddenly had the glimpse that Sūryanamaskāra or Sun Salutation is not simply an exercise, but it was the secret technique of Vāta-Sāra; of filling the intestines with air. The possibility of using these techniques for physical health was the main reason to think deeply about the process. I wrote and published a small booklet with the name “Drink Air Stay Fit” in the year 2007.
The present work is a refined version of the same, with an effort to add authenticity by making it in Sanskṛt.
